Communicating Ideas in Various Forms
A story doesn’t tell itself and bringing ideas to life is much more than a series of words and images. It’s inspiring thoughts, actions, and feelings with carefully chosen elements that integrate and immerse the audience.

What Makes A Good Story?
There are many elements to a good story. There are many different ways to tell that story, sometimes not even involving words. All in all, a good story captivates an audience by immersing them in fact or fiction.
Different forms of storytelling lean toward specific senses and cognitive functions while others manipulate them to create emphasis or invoke specific feelings. For example theatre relies strongly on sight, sound, and imagination, while video games hold a level of interactivity lacking in film.
Each medium has its own strengths and limitations which make it different from others and in some cases better to tell certain stories. To create a good story one needs to understand these differences in the medium and then understand the craft and nuances of the medium itself to best represent the story in all its glory.

Some Different Mediums of Storytelling

About Me
Hi! I'm Shelby
I am a storyteller at heart and love to inspire those around me. From writing stories, camera operating to acting in its many forms, the art of storytelling is a captivating and rewarding experience that can have a lasting impact. With a background in theatre and digital marketing, I’ve spent the last few years helping brands craft meaningful content and campaigns, from SEO blogs to voice over.
This website serves as a portfolio of past work while being a collection of all the projects I am proud to have played a role in. You’ll find an array of portfolios as a result of paid projects and hobby projects, which I have decided to show further to illustrate my love for storytelling in different forms.

Portfolios
A good story comes in many different forms from a simple image to a company branded blog post, all the way to a full-fledged film production. As someone who wants to improve and grow their storytelling capabilities, I have explored multiple avenues and opportunities to express a message and tell a story. I find that I resonate more with some forms than others. View my portfolios and experience below:

Voice Acting
An exciting voice behind your project can make or break an authentic experience for the audience. A voice-over can help create a genuine connection for the listener.

Writing
From blog writing and social media captions, to script writing and narrative development, a great story is the foundation of brand and project success. But a blog is not just a series of words, it’s a thought-out process that weaves wants, desires and a crucial message into a series of words.

Production
It’s easy to fall into the belief that storytelling is easy and straightforward. Write some words, point the camera and record, draw a masterpiece. No… the necessary, scary and overlooked part to any story is planning. Nothing prepared me better for the organisation of storytelling better than Film and TV.

I try to get my commercial voice over projects completed within 24 hours of a client signing the document. However, this largely depends on the specifications of the project.
In whatever format you would prefer to use. This often ends up being MP3 or WAV format files.
My rates vary greatly depending on the style of the project, the number of revisions and the amount of time the project requires. For a quote, please reach out to me with your project details.
